Dr. Alex Gett, PT, DPT, CSCS, RSCC, USAW-1 shares his path from professional baseball to accomplished sports physical therapist. Highlights include his decision making process to move from strength coach with the Kansas City Royals organization to graduate school and then to managing a clinic and building a team of great clinicians at True Sports Physical Therapy.

Dr. Gett is a native of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania where he played football and baseball in high school. He played collegiate baseball at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where he was a four-year letterman, voted team captain his senior year, and a multiple-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete. At the conclusion of his collegiate career, he signed a free agent contract with the St. Joseph Blacksnakes of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.

His professional career also included stints in the United League and Frontier League, including a Frontier League Championship Series appearance in 2007 with the Washington Wild Things. At the conclusion of his professional career after the 2009 season, he returned to IUP as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Crimson Hawks baseball team. After graduating from IUP in 2012 with a Master's Degree in Health and Physical Education, Alex continued his strength and conditioning career by accepting an internship position with the University of Pittsburgh's Olympic Sports Staff. He then moved on to serve a similar role at Wofford College before accepting a position as a Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Kansas City Royals in December of 2013.

He was assigned to the Burlington Royals of the Appalachian League (R) in 2014 and the Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Carolina League (Adv A) in 2015. Alex is currently employed as a clinic director at True Sports Physical Therapy in Frederick, Maryland.
